Cooperative Minister Dr. Govind Singh has said that the cooperative movement in Madhya Pradesh has suffered a lot in the last few years. He said that the cooperative movement will be intensified in the next one and a half years.Dr. Singh said that elections of State Cooperative Housing Association will also be held soon.The meeting was chaired by National Cooperative Housing Association President Satyanarayana Sharma. In a meeting held at Apex Bank, Minister Dr. Govind Singh said that the scope and activities of the State Cooperative Housing Association will be expanded to strengthen the economic situation. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the construction work on the vacant lands of housing construction, government housing construction, urban development work and housing societies will be done through the State Cooperative Housing Association. Referring to the loan amount of the rest of the Life Insurance Corporation on the State Housing Association, Dr. Singh said that the one-time settlement procedure adopted to repay the loan in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra will also be adopted in Madhya Pradesh. He said that the loan case will be resolved after discussing it with the Life Insurance Corporation.

All states will be empowered by cooperative housing association
President of National Cooperative Housing Association, Satyanarayana Sharma said that there is a need to financially empower the cooperative housing association in all states.For this, the associations will have to get new projects.He said that now the housing association will have to renounce the nature of its lending agency as many agencies have started working in this area.Sharma lauded Dr. Govind Singh’s contribution in the cooperative movement and hoped that Madhya Pradesh as well as other states would benefit from Dr. Singh’s experiences.
It was informed at the meeting that Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Housing Association owes a total loan of Rs 337 crore to Life Insurance Corporation.The original is only Rs 79 crore. It was informed that Madhya Pradesh is ready to pay this basic loan amount simultaneously.For this, one time settlement is being done with the Life Insurance Corporation.
