The Mumbai Office of the Corporate Affairs Ministry had started an attempt to stop Jet Airways’ founder and former Chairman Naresh Goyal from leaving the country a month ago. In a dramatic event on Saturday at the International Airport of Mumbai, Air Traffic Control recalled the flight of Emirates to Dubai for the trip to Dubai, on the request of the Immigration Authorities. Goyal and his wife were aboard this flight. After completing the immigration check, he was sitting in the first class and was asked to land down. Goyal was told that his foreign travel was barred. This move was raised according to the look out circular issued on the request of the Corporate Affairs Ministry. Jet Airways did not respond to the email sent to ask about this. Goyal was not available for comment. Jet Airways had closed its flights after the financial crisis. The Mumbai office of the Corporate Affairs Ministry is investigating the cases of Jet Airways. Sources said that the ministry had found suspicions of several transactions in Jet’s accounts and recommended detailed investigation of the role of the airline and its directors. The department was suspected of leaving the Goyal’s country, and for this reason, it had requested the Home Ministry to issue a notice against them almost a month ago.
