The first Rafale aircraft may have been received in France but it will take time to reach India. Currently, Air Force pilots will receive training to fly these planes there. It will be brought to them later. According to Air Force sources, a total of four aircraft will arrive in the first batch at Ambala airbase in May next year.
After this, a consignment of four Rafale aircraft will arrive at Ambala and Hashimara airbases in a span of few months. All 36 Rafale aircraft will be delivered to India in the next two to three years. Meanwhile, Air Force sources have also dismissed speculation that 36 more Rafale aircraft are to be purchased in the near future.
