Failure to test doping on Wrestler Reena may also lead to permanent restrictions. If Rina fails to pay half of the fine of eight lakh rupees, then the Indian Wrestling Federation (WFI) will impose her life ban on them. For each doping offense by WFI, the national federation has to give 16 lakh rupees to the United Nations World Wrestling Organization (UWW). Half of the amount fills the league.
WFI is now awaiting the results of the final hearing of the NADA here, and it has come to know that this wrestler has been told that if he is found guilty in the interview, he will have to pay half of the amount of Rs 8 lakh. WFI last year paid UWW a fine of 32 lakh rupees for two doping cases, which Jatin and Manish did. Both of them were unable to share the amount of this fine, which resulted in lifelong restrictions on them.
A WFI official said, ‘Why should the National Federation pay the wrestler’s mistake every time? We spent a penalty of 32 lakh rupees to the Operating Institution (UWW) last year, and there is a complete possibility that we will again have to give 16 lakh rupees. Reena has been asked to share this amount, and if she fails to do so, she will also be banned for life. Reena won a silver medal in 53 kg category in U-23 Asian Championship in Mongolia. He had won the bronze medal in the Junior Asian Championship in July last year. Apart from this, he received the silver medal in the 2015 Asian Cadet Championship. According to WFI officials, Reena had taken an injection before the championship for treatment of pain on the advice of her coach.
