The impact of US President Donald Trump’s harsh visa policy has started to appear. The approval for H-1B visa applications in the US has declined by 10 percent in fiscal year-2012. According to experts, the harsh visa policies of the Trump Government are responsible for this fall. US Citizens and Immigration Services Department approved 335,000 H-1B visa applications in the financial year-2012. Both of them include both new and old applications. This is 10 percent less than 3,73,400 applications for the financial year 2017. According to the Department’s annual Statistical Report, the approval rate of H1B visa orders decreased from 93 percent in 2017 to 85 percent in 2018. “This government is taking aggressive steps to reduce the use of H-1B visa program continuously, and it is showing in statistics,” said local newspaper Migration Policy Institute analyst Sarah Pearce.
