Eminent actor and theater actor Shriram Lagoo passed away at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune. He was 92 years old. He will be cremated on Thursday. Applied had been running ill for some time. Shriram was a well-known Marathi theater performer and a doctor by profession. Applied has worked in more than 100 Hindi and more than 40 Marathi films in his career. Shriram Laghu was born in Satara district of Maharashtra. He studied medical and earned an MBBS degree. He started doing theater while studying in a medical college. He joined the Progressive Dramatic Association. Applied studied in Mumbai and Pune, choosing medical as a career. He earned a degree in ENT surgery from Mumbai University and practiced in Pune for 6 years. He was a nose, ear, throat surgeon. After this he also went to Canada and England for additional training. After coming back to India, he started proper practice in Pune.

After this, he ventured into acting and at the age of 42, he made acting his profession. Applied was interested in acting since childhood, so this trend continued until becoming a doctor. That is why he went to many countries including Africa to provide medical services. But the mind was stuck in acting. He has acted in many films like ‘Ahat: A Strange Story’, ‘Pinjra’, ‘Mere Saath Chal,’ Saamana ‘,’ Daulat ‘. In the year 1978, Dr. Lagoo was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Gharaunda. Sriram Lagoo was strongly acted in the drama Nat Samrat, a milestone in Marathi theater. The play was written by the famous writer Kusumagra. Acting in this drama of Shri Ram is still appreciated. Because Applied played the role of Appasaheb Belwalkar in it. After seeing the role of Implicit in the play, people started calling him Nat Samrat. Talking about personal life, he married Deepa Lagoo. Deepa herself was also involved in theater and films. By this marriage he had 2 sons and a daughter. Shriram Laghu was also awarded several times for his performance. He was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Gharaunda. Apart from this, he was awarded the Kalidas Award in the year 1997 and the Fellowship Award of the Sangeet Natak Akademi in the year 2010. Even though this unmatched personality is no longer among us, he will always be remembered for his brilliant performances.
