Amazon is not worried about recession

The festive season is about to begin and online companies are getting ready for the mega sale season. Unimpressed by the news of economic slowdown and declining consumer demand, top e-commerce platform Amazon India says that it is not worried about the slowdown and is expected to register the highest sales this festive season. The number of sellers has reached 3.5 to 5 lakhs in a year.

65-70% of the company’s demand is coming from small cities, hence the focus is on easy payment and fast delivery in remote areas. According to Amazon, it has added 40% more cellars in India in the past year and is expecting a bumper demand for the upcoming festivals. In its festive sale, which runs from September 28 to October 4, Amazon’s focus will be on fashion, ethnic style and budget category.
