The court has issued a bailable warrant against Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in the defamation case filed for making objectionable remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court gave this order in connection with the case filed on behalf of senior BJP leader Rajiv Babbar. Shashi Tharoor was to appear in person in the court, but the court has issued this warrant if he is not present.

Tharoor said during the Sahitya Mahotsav in Bengaluru on October 26, 2014, “Modi is like a scorpion sitting on a Shivling. You cannot even remove it from your hand nor slap it. ”There was a lot of controversy over Shashi Tharoor’s statement and the BJP demanded an apology from him. In the same case, a case was filed against him by Delhi BJP leader Rajiv Babbar.
