The state government has demanded from the Center that the standard amount to be given to the farmers to be relieved due to the damage done to the crops due to the natural calamities should be increased from 33 percent to 20 percent. The state government says that if crops are damaged even by 20 percent under crop insurance schemes, they become entitled to farmers insurance. The UP government said that only 10 percent of the funds from the State Disaster Response Fund are used to provide relief from disasters. He said it should be increased to 25 percent. The central team was informed by the government that from May 1 to October 10, 2019, 1288 people lost their lives in various disasters in the state. Of these, 860 deaths have been caused due to house collapse due to snake bite, lightning strikes and excessive rain. It has also been demanded from the Central Government that keeping in view the rainy season, 4 months may be given for repairing the damage caused by various divine calamities. In the year 2017, 192 crore rupees were asked for flood and rainy roads, but only 23 crore rupees were received.
On the other hand, Rs 75 crore was received against the demand of Rs 262 crore for the restoration of irrigation structures. In 2018, a demand of Rs 303 crore was made to compensate for the damage to roads, bridges and irrigation structures, but only Rs 15 crore was received from the Center. Talking to the central party, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that we all have to work together and avoid mutual differences. Better work has been done in UP than last two and a half years. Today we buy its produce directly from farmers and pay it without any midiator. Every year we buy more quantity of produce from farmers than before. This means the number of farmers is increasing in Uttar Pradesh. After that we also did loan waiver programs for farmers, in which cooperative banks supported.
