Counting begins after EVM machine and VVPAT match: opposition party.

Counting begins after EVM machine and VVPAT match: opposition party.

Before the counting of the Lok Sabha elections, the delegation of 22 opposition parties reached the Commission on Tuesday on the issue of EVM and VVPAT. This delegation of opposition parties has demanded that after the order of the Supreme Court, EVM machines and VVPAT slips of 5 polling stations in each assembly area will be started only after the next counting of votes will be started. If there is a difference between EVM and VVPET slips, the entire counting of that assembly constituency can be done through VVPAT slips.
The Election Commission has given assurance to the delegation of opposition parties that they will consider it in the matter and make appropriate decisions. It is notable that senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad while addressing the press, said that he had told the Election Commission that VV Counting should be started only after matching Pat’s slips. The Election Commission has now arranged that the counting of EVM machines will start. In the end, EVMs and VVPATs will have the counting of slips. If there is a difference, then the results of VVPAT slips will be included in the result. All opposition parties have opposed it.
