Senior Supreme Court lawyer Ram Jethmalani died at his residence on Sunday at the age of 95. He was ill for a long time. Jethmalani was counted among the country’s famous criminal lawyers. He was currently a Rajya Sabha MP from the Rashtriya Janata Dal. He took charge as Law Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. He attained a law degree at the age of 17. Was twice elected BJP MP from Mumbai Lok Sabha seat. However, in 2004, he also contested against Atal Bihari. He was born on 14 September 1923 in Sindh province of Pakistan. His family migrated to India after partition. He used to argue in court without a mike. In addition to his lawsuits, he was often in the discussion due to his statements.
Fought many famous cases
Ram Jethmalani has fought many famous cases. Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s killers appeared as lawyers for Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh. Not only this, he also challenged the medical evidence given by TD Dogra, who performed the autopsy of the body of AIIMS doctor and Indira Gandhi. However, many people objected to this case.

In 2010, he was also elected as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Also been Union Minister
Jethmalani has also been the Union Law Minister and Urban Development Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government. In 2010, he was also elected as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association. In the sixth and seventh Lok Sabha, Jethmalani was also elected as a MP from Mumbai on a BJP ticket. In 2004, he also contested against Atal Bihari Vajpayee from Lucknow.
