Election case from EVM again reached Supreme Court

In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, the election case from EVM has again reached the Supreme Court. The Election Analysis Association, ADR has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding that the Election Commission be directed to fully match the votes cast and the votes cast before the announcement of the final decision of any election. The results of the election should not be declared before this match. The PIL states that the Election Commission releases the results on provisional figures while the number of votes counted is different. The commission should declare the result only after reconciling these two figures.

The petitioner has also demanded an inquiry into all such irregularities which appeared in the data related to the 2019 Lok Sabha election results. On the election process of the Election Commission, the petition said that the Election Commission announced the voting in the seven phases of 2019 Lok Sabha elections on its app MyVotors Turnout but in the seventh phase this data was not given and only the voting percentage started being given. With this, the old voting data was also removed. Questioning the Election Commission in the petition, it has been said that these changes may be an attempt to hide the mess.
