Exit poll results disappointing for Netanyahu, will not get majority

Is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s phase in Israel now over? The same thing is coming out in the exit poll results. The exit poll results showed that Netanyahu, the country’s longest-serving prime minister, would not get a majority in Parliament. If the exit poll results prove to be true, then the record may shatter his dream of becoming PM for the fifth time.

In his election campaign, Netanyahu had thrown his full force. He also used photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Donald Trump, in his campaign to show his foreign policy and Israel’s stature in the world. The election is seen as a referendum on the leadership of the current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. If the exit poll and the results remain the same, then no one is going to get a majority.

The right-wing faction led by Netanyahu may get 55–57 seats in the 120-member Israeli parliament. On the other hand, Netanyahu’s main rival Benny Gantz’s Blue and White Party is also seen trailing by 61’s magical figure. In such a situation, there is a possibility that a mixed government should be formed in the country.

A lot of interest was also being taken in India on this election of Israel. The Indian government will also hope that PM Modi’s chemistry with Netanyahu will continue. The friendship of the two leaders is very popular. In recent years, relations between India and Israel have strengthened considerably. During Netanyahu’s election campaign, his pictures with Prime Minister Narendra Modi went viral. A large banner was also put up on an Israeli building showing the warm relationship between the two leaders and the bilateral relationship.

During the election campaign, Netanyahu had put up photographs banners with many foreign leaders to display an international image. According to the Central Election Commission, 69.4 percent voters exercised their franchise. Israeli citizens voted in the general election held in the country for the second time in five months on Tuesday. It is clear from exit polls that A Liberman, who was the foreign and defense minister in Netanyahu’s government, can become a kingmaker. His party YBP may get 8 to 10 seats. He has said that he will support the coalition government.
