Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has resigned from the post just 3 days after taking oath in Maharashtra after the Supreme Court’s decision to prove majority on Wednesday morning. Earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered floor test on Tuesday itself, but they have resigned without waiting for it. Devendra Fadnavis’s first deputy CM Ajit Pawar has also resigned. It is believed that Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar felt that they would not be able to prove majority in the floor test and due to this both of them resigned from the post. Before announcing his resignation, Devendra Fadnavis blamed the Shiv Sena for instability in the state. He said that both the parties had contested together and won a majority, but the people gave us more support by giving 105 seats. But, seeing that the Shiv Sena could not form a government without it, then it was adamant on the CM’s demand, while no such decision was made. Shiv Sena talked to NCP instead of talking to us for government formation. Not only here, on this occasion, Devendra Fadnavis, while taunting the Shiv Sena, said that those whom we had heard that he did not come out of Matoshree, he was going out and meeting all the people.
Devendra Fadnavis’s first deputy CM Ajit Pawar has also resigned.
Earlier on Saturday morning, both leaders took the oath of CM and deputies CM, surprising everyone. Devendra Fadnavis had then said that Ajit Pawar has submitted a letter of support to the NCP MLAs and he has a majority. However, shortly after, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said that this is Ajit Pawar’s personal decision and the party does not agree with it. 10 leaders of Uttar Pradesh Congress expelled on charges of indiscipline Not only this, the next few hours, Sharad Pawar held a press conference with Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray and claimed to have a number. By Saturday evening, Sharad Pawar had called half of those dozen MLAs into his group. Not only this, when the Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP paraded 162 MLAs in a hotel in Mumbai, all the MLAs of NCP were present except Ajit Pawar. Since then it was believed that it would be very difficult to prove majority for Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. The Supreme Court did the job of putting the last nail in the troubles of both the leaders, when it ordered a floor test on Wednesday itself. Shortly after the verdict of the top court, Ajit Pawar resigned the CM and then Devendra Fadnavis also resigned. In this way, dramatic events in Maharashtra started on Saturday with resignations.Ajit Pawar may have slammed the depute CM on Saturday, but Sharad Pawar and other family members continued to appeal to him to return. On the one hand, Sharad Pawar was uniting his MLAs, on the other hand, he was sending messengers to meet Ajit Pawar. It is being said that on Tuesday, Sharad Pawar’s wife and Supriya Sule’s husband Sadanand spoke to Ajit Pawar and persuaded him to return.
