Barwadih police located Latehar district in Jharkhand have arrested Maoist Naxalite Jhaman Singh near Chechnaka of the local forest department. Naxalite banners, posters and literature have also been seized from the arrested Maoists. The arrested Naxalite hails from Matloung in Latehar district Manika.
Sub-divisional police officer Amarnath and police station in-charge Dinesh Kumar said in a press conference on Thursday that the Naxalite was on his way to Mandal to attend a meeting of Maoists on Jhaman Singh Budha Pahad.
Naxalite banners, posters and literature have also been seized from the arrested Maoists.
Jhaman told the police interrogation that he was going to deliver some goods as he joined the Naxalite meeting. During this time he was arrested. The Maoist’s brother Sudhir Singh alias Kundan Singh, who is under police control, is also the area commander in the militant organization.
Police is questioning Jhaman Singh. Police have come to know that Naxalites are trying to become active in the old mountain area. Earlier on Thursday, a reward of one million rupees in Gumla was surrendered by the Naxal Bhushan to the police. Bhushan, the zonal commander of the Koyal conch zone was also active in the old mountain area.
