Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s procession will be seen in the US city of Houston this Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump will share the stage together at the ‘Howdy Modi’ event on Sunday. People of both countries are waiting for the moment when the leaders of two big democratic countries will rally together for the first time in the world. Meanwhile, the US president has indicated that he may make some big announcements at the mega rally in Houston. You may know that more than 50 thousand people of Indian community will participate in this program. This warmth of the leaders of America and India will be seen at a time when Pakistan is busy spreading lies on Kashmir. Pak PM Imran Khan has also sought help from America on Kashmir, but this friendship will make him more restless. On his way back from California to Washington DC, Trump was asked by reporters whether there would be some big announcements when he would be with the Indian PM at the Houston rally? Trump said on this, ‘Maybe. I have a very good relationship with Prime Minister Modi. However, he did not elaborate. Media reports state that officials of both countries are trying to finalize a trade deal before Modi and Trump meet in Houston.
In fact, Trump had complained that India is levying more duty on American products and this is not acceptable. After this, there was increased business tension between India and America. In June, the US abolished India’s preferential status (GSP). However, now US lawmakers have said that it should be restored. When America withdrew the special discount, India also imposed more than 5 June charges on 28 American products including almonds, apples.
The White House has announced that Trump will also attend PM Modi’s mega rally on 22 September to show his special sentiment towards the close ties between the two countries. This is the first time that Modi and Trump will share the stage together in this way. This will also be the third meeting of the two leaders within three months. Earlier they met in June at the G-20 Summit in Japan and the G-7 Summit in France last month.
Asked about the record of 50,000 Indian Americans reaching the event, Trump said that after the announcement of my departure, the crowd will increase further. He said, “There is a huge crowd for him (Modi) and my guess is that this number will increase further because I have also announced that I am going.” PM Modi will be visiting America for the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly from September 21-27. On the other hand, India’s Ambassador to the US has said that the Prime Minister and the US President can meet twice this month at an interval of less than a week. Modi will reach Houston on Saturday. A day later, Trump will be with him to address the huge ‘Howdy Modi’ rally. The two leaders will meet again in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.
