The brand value of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has increased seven per cent to USD 6.8 billion in 2019, with its Mumbai and Chennai franchises rising steadily. This has been revealed in the report. The company said in its report that the price of Shah Rukh’s Kolkata Knight Riders and the controversy-ridden Vijay Mallya’s Bengaluru franchise had decreased by eight percent.

The Cricket Board of India started the Premier T20 Cricket League in 2008 in which eight teams from the corporate world took part. Seeing its success, later it added two more teams but then the number has increased to eight. Mukesh Ambani’s Mumbai Indians is the winner of the four seasons, its value has increased by 8.5 percent, bringing its brand value to 809 crores now, making it the most valuable team in the IPL. While the brand value of Chennai Superkings of India Cements has increased by 13.1 percent and now its brand value has increased to 732 crores. Jindals’ Delhi Capitals have grown by 8.9 percent this year, taking its value to 374 crore. Apart from the Bengaluru and Kolkata franchises, the brand value of Rajasthan Mogul of the media mogul Murdoch family also decreased which was Rs 284 crore a year ago and has now come down to 271 crore.
