Police on Tuesday arrested the main accused in the Murshidabad triple murder case in Bengal. Murshidabad Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar said on Tuesday that Utpal Behera was arrested from Sahapur area of Sagardighi in the district in the morning. He is a mason by profession. The bodies of brother-in-law Prakash Pal (35), his pregnant wife Beauty and his eight-year-old son Angan were found blood-soaked in their house at Jiaganj in Murshidabad district on October 8. Police said Behera had given money to Pal for two life insurance policies.

Police said, although Pal had given a receipt for the first policy but did not give a receipt for the second policy. Pal and Behera had been in dispute over the matter for the past few weeks. Pal had also insulted him, after which Behera decided to assassinate him. The police claimed that Behera had confessed to his crime.
