Thousands of people were stranded on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway after the movement of vehicles was blocked due to landslides in Ramban district. Traffic department officials said that on Thursday, the train will not be allowed from Srinagar or Jammu, and only stranded vehicles will be evacuated.
Despite the efforts of various agencies to remove debris from the road, several thousand vehicles got stuck between Banihal and Ramban.

Officials said that the highway connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country was closed due to falling of stones on the highway at Chanderkot and Digdole in the evening. They said that trains were allowed to move from Srinagar to Jammu in the morning but the road was blocked at both the places. Despite the efforts of various agencies to remove debris from the road, several thousand vehicles got stuck between Banihal and Ramban. Efforts are being made to clear the road.
