Criticizing the Digha.Modi government amending the citizenship law, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Friday that she would not allow the cab to be implemented in her state in “any case”. The ruling TMC chief said that the saffron party cannot force the states to implement the law. Mamta said, we will never allow the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Act in Bengal, even though this Parliament has passed. The BJP cannot force the states to implement this.

On Friday, announcing a series of protests in the state, the Chief Minister said that he also canceled the proposed Delhi visit to attend a meeting related to Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. He said, citizenship law will divide India. While we are in power, not even a single person of the state is going to leave the country. Referring to the proposed Assam visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Mamata said that it would be a “blot” on the country’s reputation if he canceled his visit due to opposition to the citizenship law in the Northeast. It is noteworthy that Abe’s visit to Guwahati has been canceled.
