Criticizing the Digha.Modi government amending the citizenship law, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Friday that she would not allow the cab to be implemented in her state in “any case”. The ruling TMC chief said that the saffron party cannot force the states to implement the law. Referring to the proposed Assam visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Mamata said that it would be a “blot” on the country’s reputation if he canceled his visit due to opposition to the citizenship law in the Northeast. It is noteworthy that Abe’s visit to Guwahati has been canceled.
