For the Delhi Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the BJP’s campaign by organizing a rally at Ramlila Maidan on 22 December. The party said that the rally will include residents of unauthorized colonies. Significantly, earlier this month, Parliament passed a bill to give ownership to the residents of unauthorized colonies of Delhi. The BJP, which is looking to return to power after more than two decades in Delhi, is preparing to challenge the Aam Aadmi Party in the upcoming assembly elections in unauthorized colonies.
The party said that the rally will include residents of unauthorized colonies.
Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said that people from all 1,731 unauthorized colonies, where the residents have been given ownership, will join the thanksgiving rally. In the 2015 assembly elections, the BJP could win only three seats in the 70-member assembly. Tiwari said that senior party leaders would hold 350 Nukkad meetings. He informed that BJP Yuva Morcha workers will take out a motorcycle rally on December 17 in all 70 assembly constituencies along with residents of unauthorized colonies. He told that BJP leaders will perform Bhoomi Pujan at Ramlila Maidan on the same day to start preparations for Thanksgiving rally.
