The young batsman Prithvi Shaw, who returned with a brilliant innings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, has said that now his focus is on batting so that he can comeback in Indian team. The BCCI imposed an eight-month ban on Earth in July after failing a doping test which has recently ended. Shaw, who scored 63 off 39 balls in the first match after his return, said, “Now my focus will be on scoring more runs and winning the match for the team.” Asked about his return to the Indian team, he said, “My focus will be on scoring runs.” It is the job of the selectors to think about this.

My job is to score runs and win the team. On the suspension, he said, “I never thought that something like this would happen.” Obviously I was disappointed. I was very upset for the first 20-25 days of the ban, I could not understand how this happened. My practice was banned until 15 September, so I went to London and started working to strengthen myself mentally. During this time, former Indian captain Rahul Dravid helped him a lot in the National Cricket Academy. He said, ‘I had nothing on my mind. There was nothing to do because of the ban. There I gave several fitness tests.
