As reported by Dawn News, Musharraf in his application called the LHC to declare the proceedings pending before the special court and take all action against him, starting a complaint of high treason, appointing prosecutors and setting up a trial court as unconstitutional. The former president’s treason trial for a state of emergency on November 3, 2007, has been pending since December 2013. Musharraf was charged with sedition in December 2013. Musharraf was convicted on 31 March 2014 and the prosecution presented full evidence before the special court in September of the same year. Musharraf left Pakistan in March 2016.
