Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Saurabh Ganguly has asked Team India and captain Virat Kohli to focus on the current series and not to think about tournaments far away. According to Ganguly, the team management and selectors should not think about next year’s World Cup.
Ganguly said, “The most important thing for India right now is that it does not look forward to next year’s World T20. Before the last World Cup there was a lot of noise on it and sometimes it is not right. All that needs to be done for Team India right now is to select their best potential players and give them a lot of opportunity to perform, as we have many great talent in the domestic circuit.
According to Ganguly, the team management and selectors should not think about next year’s World Cup.
Ganguly said, “Virat, Rohit, Shikhar, Hardik and Jadeja have already shown their abilities and now young players need to come forward and take their performance to the next level. In bowling, Khalil Ahmed, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini are good and Team India should take good care of them so that they can develop themselves like Bumrah.
Ganguly expressed confidence that these players will mature over time and make Bumrah, Bhuvi and Shami their role models. These will be good signs for India’s fast bowling. Apart from having Rahul Chahar, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep and Chahal in the spin department, everyone has faith in the team. At the same time, some brilliant young faces are seen making their place in the batting as well.
