India’s women’s badminton star PV Sindhu has had a poor start in the BWF World Tour Badminton Finals. Sindhu has lost to Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the first match. Sindhu lost 21–18, 18–21, 8–21 despite leading 11–6 in the second game. This is the third consecutive victory by former world number one Yamaguchi over Sindhu. Sindhu will now face Chen Yu Fei of China in the next Group A match. Sindhu was playing well in the first half, but Yamaguchi quickly put her under pressure. After this, Sindhu made many mistakes.
