Tribal Welfare Minister, Mr. Omkar Singh Markam, here today T.T. At the concluding ceremony of the National Sports Competition of Eklavya Residential Tribal Schools at the city stadium, the players asked the children to brighten the name of the country at the international level in sports like Ekalavya. Mr. Markam gave away medals and certificates to the players and teams for their outstanding performance in the competition. Minister Shri Markam said that he is grateful to the parents who motivated the children to study in Eklavya Residential School. He chanted the slogan “The pride of the tribals – Eklavya is our great” with children in the sports field.

Deputy Commissioner, Tribal Welfare Department, Smt. Seema Soni said that in the sports competition, players performed excellently for 1980 medals in 16 disciplines. 4,057 players participated in the competition. In the national sports competition, the title of Best Player of the tournament was won by Shalini Tomar, a student from Sondwa in Alirajpur district. The Best EMRS State title went to Uttarakhand and the Over-All Champion Trophy. Madhya Pradesh received a total of 130 medals. These include 64 gold, 38 silver and 28 bronze medals. Minister Mr Markam also honored the head coaches of various states at the closing ceremony.Principal Secretary, Tribal Welfare Smt. Deepali Rastogi, Smt. Kusum Markam and Director Tribal Regional Development Scheme Shri Rakesh Singh were present on the occasion.
