A farmer from Tamil Nadu has built a temple of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his farm. He told that he is influenced by welfare schemes like Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi and has also benefited from it. The farmer named P Shankar (50) inaugurated the temple last week in Irakuri village, about 63 km from here. He performs Aarti daily. This temple is eight by eight feet, with tiles on its floor. Traditional Rangoli has also been made to welcome people.

The temple cost around 1.2 lakh rupees and it has a statue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Traditional lamps have been lit on both sides of Modi’s statue. He has a tilak on his forehead and the prime minister is seen in a pink kurta and blue shawl in the statue. The farmer said that the construction of the temple of Ayya (a respectful address to Prime Minister Modi) started about eight months ago. He could not complete it quickly due to some problems and the temple was inaugurated last week.
