There was a big upsurge in the politics of Jharkhand today. The Congress and five MLAs of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Naujawan Sangharsh Morcha joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Former state DGP, former IAS and former IPS officer also took BJP membership in the presence of the Chief Minister at the meeting held on Wednesday at the Bharatiya Janata Party office in Ranchi.
Prominent leaders joining the BJP include former state Congress President and MLA Sukhdev Bhagat, Congress MLA and former Minister Manoj Kumar Yadav, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Jayaprakash Bhai Patel and Kunal Shadangi, Naujwan Sangharsh Morcha MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi and National Secretary of Congress And Chhattisgarh co-incharge Arun Oraon. At the same time, former Director General of Police D.K. Pandey, retired Indian Administrative Service officer Suchitra Sinha, former Indian Police Service officer Arun Oraon also joined the party.
Four Congress-JMM MLAs join BJP

All the MLAs and former officials joining the BJP were garlanded by state president Laxman Giluva and Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, state co-election in-charge Nandkishore Yadav, former Union minister and MP Jayant Sinha.
