The polling for the 15 constituencies for the fourth phase of Jharkhand assembly elections started on Monday morning. Election Commission (EC) officials said that polling started at seven in the morning. He informed that polling in Jamua, Bagodar, Giridih, Dumri and Tundi will go till 3 pm, while in other seats, voting will go till 5 pm. Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer Vinay Kumar Choubey said on Sunday that armed forces have been deployed in Naxal-affected areas. Polling is being held for 15 seats in four districts of the state in the fourth phase. These include Devghar (Su), Jamua (Su), Chandankiyari (Su), Madhupur, Bagodar, Gandey, Giridih, Dumri, Bokaro, Sindri, Nirsa, Dhanbad, Jharia, Tundi and Baghmara. Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer Vinay Kumar Choubey said that there are a total of 47,85,009 voters in 15 assembly constituencies. These include 22,44,134 women and 81 third-gender voters. A total of 221 candidates including 23 women candidates are in the fray in the fourth phase. Bokaro seat has the maximum 25 candidates contesting the election. A total of 6101 polling stations have been set up. BJP candidate and former minister Aparna Sen Gupta from Nirsa assembly constituency voted and claimed his victory. The BJP candidate cast his vote at booth number 130. After which she said that she is going to win the election with a big margin.

Current MLA from Massas Arup Chatterjee along with his entire family voted at booth number 189. After casting his vote, he said that we need the people and the people need us. In the Madhupur seat, the state Labor Minister and BJP candidate Raj Paliwar is pitted against Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Hussain Ansari. At the same time, in Chandankiyari seat, the main contest is likely to be between Revenue Minister Amar Kumar Bawri and AJSU candidate Umakant Rajak. In Jharia seat, a direct contest can be seen between two women of the same family, where BJP has made Ragini Singh its candidate. At the same time, Congress has given ticket to Purnima Neeraj Singh. Ragini is the wife of the saffron party’s sitting MLA Sanjeev Singh. Singh is in jail for the murder of his cousin Neeraj Singh (Congress leader). Choubey said that a total of 47,85,009 voters in 15 assembly constituencies are eligible to exercise their franchise. These include 22,44,134 women and 81 third-gender voters. A total of 221 candidates, including 23 women candidates, are in the fray in the fourth phase. Bokaro seat has the maximum 25 candidates contesting the election. He informed that a total of 6101 polling stations have been set up. In the fifth and final phase, voting will be held on December 20 for 16 seats. The counting of votes will take place on 23 December.
