US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed to meet in the G-20 summit in Japan in June. Both leaders have expressed the intention to work more on the achievements of the past two years as well as strengthening the US-India strategic partnership. The White House said that the two leaders are hoping to meet each other at the G-20 summit in Osaka. There, America, India and Japan will hold a trilateral meeting to work on a shared vision for a free and open India-Pacific region. The G-20 Summit is to be held on 28th and 29th June.
The White House said that Trump greeted Modi by calling him to win a historic victory in the Lok Sabha elections. Before going on a trip to Japan, Trump said that I just talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and gave him many good wishes. Trump said that he won a grand victory in the elections. He is my friend. We have excellent relations with India. Earlier, the US president had been told that under Modi’s second innings there are essential things for India-US strategic ties. In response, Modi said that I also hope to work closely with you for close and bilateral relations.
